About the Five Pillars of Exalt
At Exalt, we take seriously our mission to provide ambitious athletes with fitness apparel that not only fits them comfortably but also inspires them to be the best they can be. After all, fitness involves more than just strengthening the body. It can also clear our minds of the fog that closes in on us during trying times. It can help us build our spirits to be more lively, gracious, and resolute.
With these things in mind, we have built our brand on five pillars that best exemplify what we want our clothing to convey: strength, faith, determination, belief, and perseverance. We will explore these five pillars in more detail below.
Athletes who take their sport seriously are always pushing their bodies--to be stronger, faster, and leaner. To maximize their strength, they might develop vigorous exercise regimens or watch their diets meticulously. Physical strength is of course essential for seasoned athletes to maintain. We also believe, however, that athletes should strive to cultivate a special strength that cannot be gained by lifting weights or eating more greens.
This strength is intangible; it won’t fortify the muscles. Rather, this strength grows from within and is nourished by humility rather than by pride. It is also protective rather than reactive--think more of a turtle’s shell than a lion’s roar. Most important, people who cultivate this strength soon learn that it is okay not to be strong enough sometimes, to call upon a healing God for guidance and comfort. Once you develop this strength, you will have the fortitude not necessarily to run farther but to walk tirelessly in your faith.
We celebrate this mighty pillar through many of our clothing. Our strength rose muscle tank in particular declares boldly of its wearer: I am strong through Him.
At Exalt, our faith guides us in just about everything we do. In fact, we believe that we can never separate ourselves from our faith, whether we are on the field scoring that winning goal or at church praising God for all He has done for us and all He will do to guide us through life.
In short, faith endows us with confidence: in both ourselves and in God. When we believe that we can achieve, we reach high and often reap desirable results, even if that our victory is more personal and not endless glory for our team. Additionally, unwavering faith keeps us close to God. We never worry for long because we always know that He is near. Serious about your faith and want to remind yourself and others as you work and play? Be sure to take a look at such selections as our poignant Commit Focus Finish tee.
If you are very serious about your sport, you have likely faced many successes--as well as countless failures. These failures are inevitable. Feeling defeated, on the other hand, is not. While it takes practice, we can train ourselves to be motivated not solely by winning but also by trying. In other words: be encouraged by triumphs, humbled by defeats, and nourished by determination.
If you want to remind yourself to stay determined on the field or track, be sure to take a look at such Exalt selections as this determination tank.
You likely hear this word a lot: as an athlete, as a Christian, as a human being just trying to get through everyday life. Because it is one of our mighty pillars, we will stress it here as well: believe, and believe deeply.
After a while, though, the word may begin to feel a little hollow. You know you need to believe, but in what? And why? First, you need to believe that you are living with purpose. The people you help daily, the talents you use to serve others--all these things were put in your life for a reason. What is that reason? God can answer that for you, which brings us to our second point. You must also believe in God and the plan he has for you. Recall Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Our believe tank is perfect for all believers.
We already talked about determination. In some ways, it might seem redundant to touch upon perseverance as well. Believe it or not, however, the two are similar concepts, just slightly different shades of trying. Think of determination as a promise to yourself that you will never give up. Perseverance, then, can be that promise put to action.
How can you do that? It always helps to make goals for yourself. For instance, if you are a runner but not quite at the speed you hope to be, start small. Tomorrow, push yourself to run at least to the stop sign a couple streets down. Once you master that, you can go farther--maybe to the corner store just a little further down. With time, your legs will carry you. You won’t grow weary.
